Fig Jam with Thermomix

Do you fancy an autumn day? Would you like to serve all those seasonal ingredients and preserve them for the whole year? So, I recommend you to prepare a very easy and delicious fig jam with Thermomix.

A traditional recipe made with a few ingredients: figs, sugar and lemon. A recipe that you can enrich with other savours according to your taste. Many people added ginger, cocoa or brandy.

I decided to buy my Thermomix because it would have allowed me to prepare at home very genuine and tasteful preserved food and jam to be used during the whole year. In particular I'm totally in love with the fig jam which can be simply spread on bread or rusks in the morning, or involved in jam tarts and appetising desserts such as strudel or jam filled biscuits

Making jams during summer or autumn is also an intelligent and cheap way of preparing yourself for Christmas. You just need some small jars, perhaps with a lovely cover, to give a small gift even to less close friends and colleagues. You would really make an impression! So, "Enjoy yourself!"

Here you are other easy and tasty jam recipes to be made with Thermomix: the Cherry Jam, the Plum Jam and the Strawberry Jam. But I'm waiting for you to tell me other mouth-watering recipes!!! :-)

If you want to use jam in your cooking, here you are the Jam Tart, the Jam Biscuits, the Milk-Free Sweet Roll, the Crêpes, the Pancakes recipes.

Recipe N° 5

This is Kim Novak's recipe (I only know this name, but I'm not sure either it is her real name or she's just a fan of beautiful actress Kim Novak :-))) ). She is an Italian Facebook page fan and she says: "In 40 minutes your jam is ready to be put into jars....fantastic!!!"

Ingredients

- 800 g Figs
- 400 g Sugar
- 2 Lemons

How to prepare the Fig Jam

Peel figs and put them in the mixing bowl with sugar and lemons juice. 40 Min. 100°C Speed 2 and then 1 Min. Speed 8.

Pour into sterilised jars.

Rita Caracciolo's Advice

Rita Caracciolo is an Italian Facebook page fan and she suggests: "Once you put the jam in the jars, I cover it all with a cloth until they're cold".

My Advice

I use pure alcohol 90% to sterilise jars. I pour a very small amount of alcohol in the first jar, I close it and shake it and then I pour it on the second jar and so on.

Pure alcohol is not cheap, but it lasts for a very long time!
