If you fancy a strange and delicious dessert, this "Drunk" Cake with Chocolate and Red Wine is perfect for you :-)
The recipe has been sent to me by Olivia, a fan from Villa San Giovanni (RC). The name for this cake has been invented by Anna Moroni, the very nice cook who became famous thanks to the Italian food programme "La Prova del Cuoco" (a Ready Steady Cook like programme) beside the famous Italian host Antonella Clerici.
It could be similar to the Red Wine Cake but the ingredients and the method of preparation are different :-)
The chocolate/cocoa and red wine combining is perfect because after cooking alcohol evaporates and only its taste remains (so it's good even for people who can't take alcoholics).
I suggest you try this mouth-watering and very rare cake, also because making it with Thermomix is a very easy game....what a deli! ;-)
You can try the Red Wine Cake but if you are a chocolate lover I think you should have a look at the Chocolate section of this website :-)
- 300 g Sugar
- 200 g Butter
- 60 g Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 100 g Red Wine
- 150 g Flour
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Baking Powder Sachet (about 15 g)
How to prepare Chocolate and Red Wine Cake
Pour cocoa, sugar, butter and wine in the bowl. 7 Min. 50°C Speed 3.
Then take a glass of this mixture out of the bowl and put aside.
Add flour and eggs into the bowl. 1 Min. Speed 5.
add baking powder while the knives are moving. 20 Sec. Speed 5.
Butter and cover with flour a baking pan, pour the mixture inside and bake into pre-heated oven. 40 Min. 160°C.
Once cooked you must riddle the surface with holes using a toothpick and pour the mixture you put aside before on the cake.
Let the cake "get drunk" for an hour before serving :-)
