Chocolate Chip Cookies with Thermomix

When I fancy a sweet treat I usually eat two or three Chocolate Chip Cookies like these :-)

They're very easy to make but the greatest fact is that using Thermomix it's even quicker!

Here you are two recipes to prepare these cookies.

The first one is very interesting and it has been created by Eli after various tries.

The second recipe has been sent by Michela Bernacchi from Florence who said "they are very light and tasty, they're perfect for your breakfast or your children's snack".

These cookies are very famous in America of course and I love them because children finally love home-made cookies more than industrial snacks!

If you are a chocoholic like me, pay attention!
While cooking they give off a special aroma and it's very difficult to resist and waiting for them to cook..you should at least let them get cold.

You like chocolate cookies I suggest you try the yummy Chocolate Biscuits. Or if you want to delight yourself with other recipes without chocolate try the Honey Biscuits or the traditional Italian Canestrelli.

1st Recipe


- 225 g Flour "00"
- 85 g White Sugar
- 85 g Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 100 g Butter
- 2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 150 g Dark Chocolate Chips
- 50 g Almonds

How to prepare the Chocolate Chip Cookies

Put all the ingredients in the bowl in the following order: flour, sugar, salt, butter and the egg. Mix 25 Sec. Speed 7.

Put the dough in a larger bowl and amalgamate with hands.

Add almonds cut into big pieces and chocolate chips and mix very quickly.

Shape the dough into small balls (a little smaller than a golf ball). Put them on a baking tray covered with greaseproof paper with enough space around each (5 cm) and keep refrigerated for 30 Min.

Bake at 180°C for 10 Min.

Let get cold for 15 Min. before removing from the tray.

2nd Recipe


- 250 g Flour "00"
- 50 g Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 50 g Sugar
- a pinch Salt
- 1/2 Baking Powder Sachet (about 7-8 g)
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- a handful Chocolate Chips (dark or milk chocolate as you prefer)

How to prepare the Chocolate Chip Cookies

Turn on the oven 170°C.

Put all the ingredients in the bowl except for milk and chocolate chips 20 Sec. Speed 4.

Add milk and mix 10 Sec. Speed 4.

Add chocolate chips and then mix while the knives are moving counter-clockwise 6 Sec.

Pour this mixture on the table and shape into many discs.

Place them on a baking tray covered with greaseproof paper and bake for 5-10 Min.

When golden they are ready.

3rd Recipe

- 125 g Dark Chocolate
- 125 g White Chocolate
- 125 g Butter at room temperature
- 125 g Brown Sugar
- 175 g Self-Raising Flour (or 175 g flour + 7-8 g baking powder)
- 1 Vanillin Sachet (0.5 g) (or Vanilla Sugar)
- 1 Egg

How to prepare the Chocolate Chip Cookies

Grind the two different chocolates and mix. A few Sec. Speed 7. Put aside.

Put the other ingredients into the bowl for about 30 Sec. Speed 4-5.

Add the ground chocolates and mix. 30 Sec. Speed 3. Counter-clockwise.

Use a spoon to pick some mixture and place on a baking tray covered with greaseproof paper.

Cook for about 5 Min. into pre-heated oven at 190°C until cookies are golden.

Let the cookies stand outside the oven to let them harden then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Laura's suggestions

I must say I tried many recipes but I think this one is the best one. I adapted it myself for Thermomix so I'm not so sure about the speeds. I think it's better using dark chocolate chips to avoid "dirtying" the dough while white chocolate is not a problem even if crumbled. I think it does not exist in chips...
Let me tell you another thing: don't be tempted to flatten the cookies, they will do so in the oven anyway.

My advice

Preserve your chocolate chip cookies in a tin box: they'll remain crunchy for many days ;-)
