A brownie is a typical USA dessert. It usually is a chocolate cake cut into pieces and covered with icing or enriched with chocolate chips, walnuts or hazelnuts in its most classic varieties. But you may also find it vanilla or mint flavoured for example.
This is a luscious recipe and it has been sent by Michela Bernacchi from Florence who wrote: "It is not a light recipe, I know, but it is delicious, once you start eating it you never stop until it's finished. It's like cherries. One piece calls for the other." It is all true! The proof of the pudding! :-)
Some days ago I've made them for a school party at my daughter's school and everyone complimented me on them. Of course I've made a simpler version of this recipe, without walnuts for instance, but it has been a real success!

Ingredients
makes 12-14- 130 g Extra-Dark Chocolate
- 150 g Butter or Margarine
- 350 g Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 150 g Plain Flour
- 7 g Baking Powder
- 2 Pinches Salt
- 100 g Walnuts
- 5 g Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
How to prepare the Chocolate and Walnut Brownies with Thermomix
Pre-heat oven at 180°C/356°F. Butter and cover with flour a square baking pan, not too large.Put chocolate in the mixing bowl and grind. 15 Sec. Speed 7.
Add butter and melt. 2 Min. 50°C Speed 3.
Add sugar and eggs. 15 Sec. Speed 4.
Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. 20 Sec. Speed 4-5.
Finally add walnuts. 10 Sec. Speed 4 Reverse.
Bake for 25-30 Min., or according to your oven. Cake must be still soft inside.
Let get tepid or cold before serving.
