This is the typical recipe for the Italian potato cake that I adapted for Thermomix. You can call it by the French term "gateau" or as people say in Naples "gattò" (pronounced as in French), but its savour is always something really special.
- 300 g Provola Cheese
- 200 g Mortadella
- 1 kg Potatoes
- 350 g Milk
- 200 g Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 50 g Soft Butter
- 2 Eggs
- Bread-crumbs to taste
- Salt to taste
- Black Pepper to taste
How to prepare the Italian Potato Cake with Thermomix
Put provola cheese and mortadella in the bowl. 5 Sec. Speed 7. Put aside.
Peel potatoes and cut into slices.
Put the butterfly tool into the bowl.
Add potatoes, milk and salt into the mixing bowl. 25 Min. 100°C Speed 1.
Add butter and parmesan cheese. 30 Sec. Speed 3.
Add eggs, provola cheese and mortadella and black pepper. 20 Sec. Speed 5.
Pour this mixture in a buttered baking pan also covered with bread-crumbs. Then spread the surface with more bread-crumbs.
Bake in pre-heated oven. 200°C 30 Min. It must be nicely brown.
Using single moulds could be an original idea.
