You can call them Krapfen or Sweet Bomboloni, but the thing is the same.
This is a very tasty recipe created by Maria Gabriella. Actually, these bomboloni are the sweet version of the savoury bomboloni recipe I posted some days ago.
The limoncello (lemon liqueur) gives a delicious lemon savour to this dessert and doesn't influence with its alcohol content.
Have you ever tried to make these bomboloni involving a different liqueur? I tried to make them with Zabov but the result was poor. :-((( The dough came out too much humid.
The sweet bomboloni with limoncello are better, of course!!
Ingredients
- 1 Lemon Zest
- 1 Boiled Potato (375 g)
- 2 Vanillin Sachets ( or 2 Spoons of Vanilla Sugar)
- 100 g Sugar
- 50 g Butter
- 100 g Milk
- 1/2 Measuring Cup Limoncello
- 3 Eggs
- 1 Brewer's Yeast Cube
- 500 g Flour
- Oil to fry
How to prepare the Sweet Bomboloni with Limoncello
Put the lemon zest in the bowl. 5 Sec. Speed Turbo.
Add the boiled potato. 10-20 Sec. Speed 7.
Add vanillin, sugar, butter, milk, Limoncello, eggs and yeast. 30 Sec. Speed 7.
Set Speed 7 and add flour.
It mustn't be sticky.
When the knives work with difficulty, set Speed Dough Mode 2-3 Min.
Let leaven in the bowl for 1 hour.
Mix again. 2-3 Min. Speed Dough Mode.
Add some more flour if you need to remove the dough from the edges.
Knead on a floured table and shape as bomboloni.
Let leaven until they double in size.
Fry in boiling oil.
