Would you like to prepare a mint flavoured cake with nutella on? It's a very daring, fresh and full-flavoured recipe at the same time: another recipe to prepare with your fantastic Thermomix!
Mint syrup and nutella are the two main ingredients of this recipe. Two strong flavours, a sweet and fresh one and a soft and comfortable one. They are often mixed together in those risky combinings, accidentally discovered by a chef's inspiration or by a housewife's mistake and then make a big success.
The recipe has been sent by Margherita Morettini from Vertova who says: "My daughter's given me this recipe when she came back from the school camp. She calls it Alien Cake".
I prefer calling it After Eight Cake, from the famous English chocolate because thinking about aliens when eating a cake...it's pretty disgusting to me! :-P
In this case you may cover your cake with melt dark chocolate instead of nutella.
This cake is good for children parties (alien will make a success for sure) or for a tea time with your friends (After Eight version is better and more elegant).
Talking about nutella...I suggest trying the Coconut and Nutella Cake: it's yummy!

How to prepare Nutella and Mint Syrup Alien Cake
Put eggs and sugar in the bowl. 20 Sec. Speed 2.
Add the other ingredients. 1 Min. Speed 2/3.
Pour this mixture in a baking pan and bake. 160°C 40 Min.
Spread the surface with Nutella and dust with grated coconut.
My suggestion
Once I saw a mint and chocolate cake, like the Bicolour Cake or the Marble Cake, but with green instead of white parts.
If you want to prepare it, you may prepare half of the mixture with cocoa powder and milk, and the other half with mint syrup; then mix the two parts in the baking pan before beking.
Try and let me know how it goes!
