Salty Mini Tarts with Thermomix: St Valentine's Day Recipe

I suggest you prepare this special recipe for the menu of St. Valentine's Day. It is really tempting as a starter: Salty Mini Tarts.

You can make it in a very short time because you have all the ingredients you need in your fridge. Just use your imagination and they will be an absolutely original starter.

This recipe has been sent by Francesca from Rome. She writes: "I wanted it to be a quick starter, easy to prepare for every occasion. The filling I used is made of ham and fontina cheese but you can use your imagination: mushrooms and sausage, pumpkin, zucchini, asparagus, aubergine!"

What about you? what recipes do you usually prepare for your St. Valentine's Day?

Ingredients

for 4 tarts

For the wine pastry
- 170 g All purpose Flour
- 50 g White Wine
- 40 g Oil
- a Pinch Salt
For the filling
- 4 Ham slices
- 100 g Fontina Cheese

- 4 Moulds (10 cm diameter)

How to prepare the Salty Mini Tarts

Prepare the wine pastry.

Pour wine and oil in the bowl. 10 Sec. Speed 4.

Add flour and a pinch of salt. 1 Min. Speed Dough Mode.

By this time you must have a soft non-sticky dough. Add some oil if it is not soft. Add some flour if it is too sticky.

Roll it out and cover moulds with this dough.

Prepare the filling.

Put ham and fontina cheese in the bowl. Some Sec. Speed Turbo.

Fill in the moulds with ham and fontina cheese and cover with some more dough.

Or you can shape some stripes and cover the filling with them. So cute! :-)

Bake in pre-heated oven at 180°C - 200°C for 20 Min. (do not overcook or the pastry will crumble too much)

You can prepare so many versions of this tarts! Have fun!

My advice

You can shape some hearts with the covering dough on the top and write your initials in it! Very St. Valentine's!

Or you may use some heart shaped moulds.
