Cherry Jam: Do it with Thermomix

Cherry Jam with Thermomix

What do you think about a home made Cherry Jam? The way I did it, with Thermomix, it turns out delicious and you will not even get your fingers dirty!blabla

Ok, let's admit it: the cherries are extremely expensive, even here in Italy! Yes it's the country of the sun, but cherries are always expensive. So maybe you could say: why to waste the cherries to make a jam. I prefer to eat them, not to cook them.

But, I say, the cherry jam has to be tried! Sweet and dark red: perfect with bread and butter. Perfect for cakes!

Do you want to try it?

Ingredients

- 1300 g Whole Cherries
- 250 g Cane Sugar
- Peel of 1/2 Lemon
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

How to make Cherry Jam

Put lemon peel in the mixing bowl 10 Sec. Speed. 7 and put aside.

Put whole cherries in the mixing bowl. 20 Min. 100° Speed 1.

When cherries soften, it’s easier to remove their stone. For this reason do 5 Min. 100° Speed 3.

This is the hardest moment! You have to check well and take away every stone with a teaspoon. I prefer to do it now instead of stoning cherries before and get my fingers dirty! And with Thermomix this is possible!

Add cherries, now stoned, cane sugar, the lemon peel previously minced and cinnamon. 20 Min. 100° Speed 1.

At last, to make cherry jam thicker: 20 Min. Temp. Varoma Speed 1. If you want it thicker, you can add some more time.

Pour hot jam in sterilised glass pots. After having closed the pots, turn them upside down until they are cold.

Store the jam in a cool and dark place.

My advice

I sterilize glass pots and their plugs putting them on the oven grate for 20 Min. at 120°. Otherwise I do it with grappa or very alcoholic rum.
