Orange cake Thermomix recipe

Orange cake Thermomix recipe

Are you lucky enough to have some nice untreated oranges and are you looking for a good recipe? Try this Orange cake Thermomix recipe!

It is inspired by the Sicilian orange cake, the one that is prepared by putting the whole orange blended into the dough.
I say it is inspired, because to prepare it you need seedless oranges with a thin skin, with very little white layer between the skin and the pulp. Since they are not really easy to use, in the tips you will find a surprises-proof procedure !!

I must say that we adults like it above all, because certain flavors for children are still "a mystery".

In fact, I prepare it when I know that some friend is coming to visit me. And if you have enough left over ... the wrapping and gift, as a small souvenir of the afternoon spent together ;-).

In the meantime, wash and dry the mixing bowl.

Allow the cake to cool down, turn it upside down on a rack, remove the backing paper and let it cool for about 20 Min.

Add 100 g of sugar, the zest of an orange with no white parts to the mixing bowl and pulverize 15 Sec. Speed 10.

Squeeze the juice from 2 oranges and add it to the mixing bowl through a colander.

Cook 5 Min. 100° Speed 2.

Pour the sauce over the cake and decorate with the candied orange zest cut into fillets or cubes.

Tips

For this recipe we need thin-skinned oranges! Eventually, once cut into slices, if there was a consistent layer of white part (bitter), do this: take the zest with the potato peeler, remove the white part with the knife and then cut the slice into quarters.

If you prefer a less fluid sauce, which remains as a coating, use only an orange and 60 g of sugar, reducing the cooking time to 3 min.

If you are not interested in the sauce, sprinkle the cake with icing sugar or spread about 3 tbs of orange marmalade diluted with a tbs of Cointreau or with the same amount of warm water on the surface.

To make the cake even more delicious and "orange" ... fill it with orange custard !!!
