Double Colour Cake Thermomix: How to Prepare the Marble Cake


Are you willing to learn how to prepare a double colour cake? Here you are a soft, scented and beautiful cake recipe for your breakfast, snack or tea time in somebody's company.

The usual ingredients used in a Cimbellone Cake, flour, corn starch, eggs, butter, milk and baking powder with a little bit of cocoa powder create a natural cake very easy to prepare. Everybody will like it, especially children.

The recipe has been sent by Veruska Caprarese from Spoltore who wrote: "It is a recipe I found and adapted for Thermomix...it is one of the first recipes I started to do when I was younger. I like eating it as it is or dipped in milk for breakfast, it is delicious!".

I also started my cooking experience with cakes like this, as Veruska did and I always asked myself how I could spread cocoa in a "perfect" way to have a good double colour cake. Then my mum told me the trick by saying it was by cooking that cocoa spread in a homogeneous way. If you want a perfect marble effect you may read Veruska's suggestions.

I prepared a cake that looks like this one some months ago which I called Marble Cake. There are some differences between the two. Try them both and let me know what you think about them!

Ingredients


- 200 g Sugar
- 1 Lemon Zest
- 4 Eggs
- 170 g Plain Flour
- 170 g Potato Starch (or Corn Starch)
- 140 g Butter
- 160 g Milk
- 1 Full Spoon Cocoa Powder
- 1 Baking Powder Sachet (15-16 g)


How to prepare the Double Colour Cake


Put sugar in the bowl and pulverise. 10 Sec. Speed 8.

Peel the lemon using a peeler, add it to the sugar and grind. 10 Sec. Speed 8.

Add softened butter. 30 Sec. Speed 3.

Add the eggs through the lid hole while the knives are moving at Speed 3.

Add the flour, the potato starch and the milk. 30 Sec. Speed 5.

Add baking powder. 10 Sec. Speed 5.

Pour 3/4 of the mixture in a mould you previously buttered and floured.

Add cocoa powder in the remaining 1/4. 10 Sec. Speed 5.

Pour the cocoa mixture in the mould.

Bake in electric static oven. 30 Min. 170°C.


Veruska's Advice for the Double Colour Cake


If you want to create a marble effect you must "draw" some circles on the mixture surface after you pour the cocoa mixture. Use a toothpick.

You can also cook this cake on the cooker using the apposite pan on a medium heat for 55 Min. You'll get a high cake, an angel-cake like result!

For a softer cake whip the mixture using the butterfly tool for 3 Min. before adding the baking powder.
